Every December 13 is celebrated in Argentina on Oil and Gas Day, in commemoration of its discovery in the city of Comodoro Rivadavia, in the province of Chubut.
As the story goes, on December 12, 1907, aquifer employees were working in the well of the then town, drilling the earth in search of water. At that moment, they noticed that a bubbling, oily liquid began to come out of the ground. However, they did not give it any importance and continued to drill into the earth until the next day, December 13, when they reached a depth of about 540 meters, what they described as "viscous matter" with an odor similar to kerosene appeared.
In this way, the economic, political and social question of our country took an unexpected turn, understanding the potential development of the raw material.
The industry began to grow throughout the country and its progress, through its entire value chain, began to expand throughout the territory, becoming the support of many regional economies.
